With food photography, it’s not often that I get to employ other types of photography such as candid action in the kitchen, the chefs, and be a fly on the wall. During a shoot with Knife Pleat in Costa Mesa, I was invited to get to do all of those things, all of which was very exciting.

Knife Pleat is a Michelin rated restaurant and I got to spend a couple of hours photographing their process. Owner and head chef Tony, he manages everything with a calm presence. Some of my favorite aspects were watching the delicate plating of items, as well as watching macarons be made fresh.
